The black double breasted naval tunic has 8 gold RAN gold buttons and rank lace to the cuffs. The red wool between the gold rank lace indicates Medical Branch.
The wearer has his WW2 medal ribbons on the left side.
The black wool peak cap has the officers gold bullion wire wreath, crown and anchor sewn to the front. Embroidered gold bullion wire oak leaves to the peak, and a patent leather chin strap and plain black cloth covered side buttons.
A white cotton shirt and black tie, and
black wool trousers and black patent leather shoes completed the uniform.
